My heart is a fountain
bubbling, bursting, flowing over with love
it speads to all who are around me
and expands in all directions
My heart is a fountain
running cool and deep
Come and take a sip
There is plenty for everyone
My heart is a fountain
toss a penny
make a wish
for in this fountain all dreams come true
limits don't exist
My heart is a fountain
fed by an infinite spring

A Secret in my Pocket
And so begins my blogging journey. It hit me while I was lying in bed late last night in the dark and still silence. It wasn't so much a voice as it was a deep and sudden knowing. I must create a blog. I have been writing for quite some time various thoughts, poems, essays, recipes, anecdotes, etc. I always knew that I would publish them, but I never dreamed that it would be in the form of a blog. So here begins my new blogging adventure. I'll begin with my favorite poem. I wrote my own version after reading the original by Karen Baicker. Perhaps it will inspire you to think about what you carry in your pocket...
"A Secret in my Pocket"
There's a secret in my pocket
I take it everywhere I go
I'd love for you to see it
but it's nothing I can show
It's sunset clouds all painted red
the subtle whiff of rose
it's wading on a sandy beach
cool water on my toes
It's my favorite song on the radio
a stranger wearing a smile
that feeling at the finish line
that makes the race worthwhile
It's that gentle breeze on a summer day
an unexpected surprise
the unwavering love and acceptance
I feel in my best friend's eyes
It's the laughter that floats through the playground
or my favorite chamomile tea
And it's right here in my pocket
this secret I take with me
